ABOUT

In a time when we have all held our breaths as the very nature of our existence as people and artists transformed. We panicked, we grieved, we reached for each other and we were at times lost. In this time the artists of Phluxus2 Dance Collective fed their creative practice by responding the only way we knew how–we danced.

PROXIMAL is a powerful collision of visual and physical storytelling, exploring the intricacies of resilience, mental health and isolation. The choreography connects and reacts to landscape, self and community and is deeply rooted unprecedented pandemic experience.

Directed by award-winning Brisbane choreographer, Dr Nerida Matthaei, the piece features a trajectory of intricate tessellations and site-responsive choreography performed by twelve exceptional Phluxus2 dancers.
